At WBMS, our school community is committed to providing students with opportunities to have a positive impact on tomorrow’s world. An integral component of this impact stems from our Service-Learning Program. On behalf of the 8th Grade Service-Learning Team, we are excited to invite you to support our 8th Grade Day of Service that provides our students with the opportunity to make a positive impact on the Fulton County community.
For the 8th Grade Day of Service, our students work with and learn about 14 local organizations who make an impact daily in Fulton County. One of the organizations our students will be working with is The Sandwich Project. The Sandwich Project is a non-profit organization whose volunteers assemble and donate fresh, homemade sandwiches each week to meet the food scarcity needs in Metro Atlanta.
To support this initiative, the Service-Learning Team is requesting funds that will be utilized to purchase the supplies needed for this service project. These items will include:
- loaves of bread
- deli meat
- cheese
- peanut butter
- jelly
Any leftover funds would be used for other miscellaneous Day of Service needs, such as other service project supplies and refreshments for participating organizations.
Our goal for this day is to raise $1000, allowing us to make a total of 1,000 sandwiches! Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
